Set up in 2013, The Art of Ping Pong emerged to celebrate the popularity and subculture of the game and infuse it with the colour and vibrancy of art.
Founder Algy Batten wanted to evolve the branding in parallel with the development of new products, events and artist collaborations — all working in harmony with the brand’s charity activities, that have raised over £20k to date.
Our work with Track Mafia and Patta sparked a conversation with Algy about how the Art of Ping Pong brand could best flex to incorporate the charity, collaboration and commercial aspects of the business.
We helped the team with brand strategy, identity and visual language — in particular creating a new sub brand ‘Art of Ping Pong for Good’ — which evolved the brand toolkit with a fresh approach to typography, an expressive design style and a clever twist on the brand monogram.
The work helped to develop an understanding of how the different brand facets and initiatives could work seamlessly together now and in the future.
